Summit Lake Park is a high elevation mountain park on Highway 6 situated between the communities of Nakusp and New Denver, BC in the West Kootenays of British Columbia, Canada.

Established in 1964, Summit Lake Park protects the eco systems in the park including the wetland areas, cedar and hemlock forests, the abundant wildlife and the many reproductive riparian areas.

Summit Lake Provincial ParkThe 6 hectare recreation and campground park rests in a river valley in the Nakusp Range of the Selkirk Mountains between Upper Arrow Lake and Slocan Lake. Summit Peak at 2270 metres is one of the higher peaks one can view from the park.

Some of the summer activities enjoyed in the park include canoeing, fishing (rainbow trout), camping, boating and swimming. Canoes and boats are launched via a gravel roof top boat launch in the park or from any of the waterfront campsites.

The winter brings freezing temperatures and snowfall. Some of the activities enjoyed in the region of Summit Lake during winter include ice fishing, snowmobiling and cross country skiing.

The highlight of the park is the lake and the 100 metre long pebbled beach. Located on the beach is a day use area with picnic tables, a floating dock and pit toilets.

The campground includes small campsites, picnic tables, flush toilets and a grassy lawn area with a picnic shelter.

Some of the wildlife in the park includes eagles, hawks, kingfishers, grizzly bears, cougars, toads and mountain goats. Mountain goats can often be seen on the mountain ridges with a good set of binoculars. Every fall the Western Toads migrate into the woods for hibernation.
