Penticton Photos
The shores of Okanagan Lake border many communities in the Okanagan Valley including Penticton in the south, Summerland and Peachland in the centre and Kelowna in the north. Because it is such a large lake it is home to many water activities, sandy beaches, parks, resorts and, even, the mythical Ogopogo monster.

The Okanagan Lake includes three basins, islands and sandy beaches. When visiting the lake people enjoy activities like swimming, boating, fishing, water skiing, kayaking, canoeing, houseboating and suntanning. There are boat launches on the lake. Most are located in parks.

Some of the parks on the lake include the Okanagan Lake Park, Okanagan Mountain Park, Ellison Park, Sun-Oka Beach Park and Kickininee Park . Some of the natural highlights on Okanagan Lake include Whiskey Island, Rattlesnake Island, the bridge in Kelowna and Squally Point.
