St. Mary's River Boardwalk is a sightseeing walkway following the banks of the St. Mary's River located on the waterfront in the community of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. Sault Ste. Marie is located in Algoma Country in Northern Ontario.
St. Mary's River Boardwalk measures about 1.5 kilometres (1 mi.) long. The paved walkway stretches from the Sault Ste. Marie Canal Locks on the west end of the walkway to the Roberta Bondar Park near Brock Street on the east side.
The paved boardwalk path is a great opportunity for sightseeing the community of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.
Many walk, bike and roller blade along the pathway from one end to the other. The paved walkway is also wheelchair and baby stroller friendly.
Located along the route are many scenic views, attractions and facilities. Views enjoyed include the locks, International Bridge, marine traffic, Whitefish Island... and far across the river one can see Michigan State, U.S.A.
The pathway also connects to many facilities and attractions like the Ermatinger-Clergue Historic Site, M.S. Norgama Museum Ship, Roberta Bondar Park, Canadian Bush Plane Museum plus.... boat tours, a conference centre, library, civic centre, marina, post office, shopping mall, art gallery and train station.
Located along the walkway are viewing decks, fishing piers, outdoor art, information signs, historic plaques, flower gardens and sightseeing benches.
On any given day the wooden and metal piers hanging over the banks of the St. Mary's River are populated with people fishing for the next big catch.

How to Get Here: (West End) From the downtown area of Sault Ste Marie, Ontario, Canada travel west on Queen Street to Huron Street. Turn left and travel south on Huron Street to Canal Drive and take another left. Follow the signs to the canal.
(East End) From the downtown area of Sault Ste Marie, Ontario, Canada travel east on Queen Street to Brock Street. Turn right and travel south on Brock Street to the waterfront.
