Fort Anne National Historic Site is a 1629 fort initially built by the French than was seized by the British. Today the fort rests on 15 hectares (37 acres) of land overlooking the Annapolis Basin. The historic site has become a working exhibit detailing the history of the Mi'kmaq First Nation people, French, Acadians and the British. There are exhibits and artifacts on site, as well as, period actors depicting the time.
