Wildlife Sightings :Birding and wildlife watching is a natural for the north. Whether exploring parks, trails or backcountry forests there are good possibilities of a bear, wolf, moose, fox or lynx sighting, as well as, many local and migrating bird species.

Art and Artifacts :Visit the local museums in the small towns. Plan some time in the art gallery and visiting with some of the artisan shops located throughout the region. There are painters, sculptors and carvers.

Tours :Plan a boat cruise exploring the Kapuskasing River. Sign up for a flightseeing tour exploring the north from high in the sky. Book some time with any of the tour companies in the region and enjoy some of the sights.

Catch some Wind:The winds pick up on Remi Lake near Moonbeam, Ontario which is a good destination for those interested in windsurfing and kite surfing.

UFO Sightings : Pack up the gang, hit the road and travel east to Moonbeam, Ontario, Canada. The community of Moonbeam is a UFO destination providing a photo opportunity with a flying saucer monument.

Road Trip Trails : Plan a few days hiking and sightseeing the 34+ kilometres of trails in and near the community of Moonbeam, Ontario. Trails popular for hiking, biking, roller blading, running, xc skiing and snowshoeing.

Boating : Water skiing, boating and tubing are all enjoyed on the waters of Remi Lake, as well as, other surrounding lakes in the region. There are boat launches and campgrounds in the area for overnighters.

Off Roading :With so many backcountry gravel roads in the area it makes it an ideal area for ATVing and dirt biking. Bring your own toys as rentals may be difficult as times.

Canoeing :When there are so many lakes and rivers in an area there is always going to be canoeing. There are long haul canoe routes nearby and there are day paddles.

Hunting :Like to hunt bear, moose or bird then sign up with one of the local outfitters who operate in the north.

Ice Fishing :The lakes freeze in the winter. On many of the lakes there are ice shacks used for fishing during the winter season. Some fishing resorts provide ice fishing shacks for rental. 

Sledding : Hundreds of kilometres of snowmobile trails and roads in the region. The Kapuskasing snowmobile trails connect to the Trans Ontario Snowmobile Trail System which then connects to communities and parks.

Ski North : Not far from town is a local ski hill (Remi Ski Hill) which is popular for downhill skiing, snowboarding, xc skiing, snowshoeing and tobogganing. Chalet on site serving hot drinks
